Wine Expogusto: the first turns out well at Arezzo Fiere
Over three days more than twenty events and many B2B activities promoting the excellence of Italian Agro-food. The organisers say: “A very successful number 0, now let’s look at the future to make this initiative a reference point for international buyers”
More than 4,000 euro in funds collected for earthquake victims, twenty appointments between cooking shows, tastings and conferences. More than 20 international buyers met with wine producers attending the fair. More than 150 brands represented from Piedmont to the Veneto, from Sicily to Calabria. The first edition of Wine Expogusto organised at Arezzo Fiere closed with positive numbers: “A number zero in the Arezzo area that has served to form the basis for a second edition that is already being planned,” declared Giacomo Acciai of Iron 3, “and the objective will be to strengthen B2B activities and the presence of foreign buyers in order to define the professional character of the event in an even more incisive way”. “Our trade exposition centre can and must aim at becoming a reference for the agro-food industry,” explains Arezzo Fiere president Andrea Boldi. “For this reason we are ready to strengthen and support Wine ExpoGusto such that the organizers are already at work on the next edition.”
International buyers. India, USA, Japan and China, Germany, Korea, Canada, Great Britain, Vietnam, Poland, Denmark. These are some of the countries represented by the more than twenty international buyers that were able to meet the wine producers, and others, present at the expo. A strong point, B2B meetings, on which the organisers wanted to focus since the first Arezzo edition.
Events. More than 15 chefs from all over Italy busied themselves at the burners of the cooking show area to present their exclusive gastronomic excellence paired with wines represented at the expo. Among the main events of the last day, during which meetings continued between operators and producers present at the fair, was the final of the Best Sommelier in Tuscany competition, promoted by Ais Toscana and won by Massimo Tortora, born in ’78, formerly Italian vice-champion.
Instagrammers. During the day Saturday more than 100 Instagrammers from Igers Italia met at the fair. Instagram enthusiasts at Wine Expogusto organised their Fifth National Assembly combined with a tour to discover the excellence of the Arezzo territory as guests of prestigious area agricultural companies.
Arezzo Chefs for Earthquake Victims. ‘An evening to rebuild’ was the event during which dishes were prepared using products from companies located in the areas affected by the earthquake. More than 4,000 euro was collected just during the evening thanks to the contributions of the approximately 220 visitors who accepted the invitation to participate in the fair. The collection of funds continued until the end of the event with the sales of honey and cheese “for solidarity” at the Coldiretti stand.
